About Me

I am an oil and pastel painter lucky enough to live on the beautiful south shore of Massachusetts, where lovely beach and ocean scenes abound.  It is a never ending source of inspiration.

My primary love, however,  is portraiture. When I was sixteen, I received a small eight color oil paint set for my birthday. The first thing I painted was a portrait of my little brother. I was amazed to achieve a likeness and I was hooked.  The task of studying and portraying the likeness of a fellow human being is a challenge and an honor. The challenge, beyond the technical aspects of painting, is to capture the small subtleties of a person that contribute to their unique “personhood”.  I am delighted to be invited to make these observations and present them as beautifully as I can.
